Omens

In baseball, three strikes are all it takes to get you out of the game. Signs are a different thing altogether. I’m not exactly a superstitious person but I take signs seriously. As I go along the way, I have also learned to trust my instincts especially when my disfunctional brain makes me imagine myself in the middle of a carnage. When I woke up yesterday morning, I felt a sense of foreboding. Like something bad was going to happen. As the day progressed, I ignored my feeling until I was able to suppress it altogether.

That’s when the omens started to happen. In Buddhism, there is such a thing as good karma and bad karma. Omens are just the same. These omens aren’t the good things that make people feel good. These are bad omens that make people have a nervous breakdown. I can’t really enumerate all of them since it’s a tad personal. Suffice it to say that they were not pretty! hehehe Well, at least one of them wasn’t. Towards the end of the evening, it became clear to me that this was not going to be a very good day. The omens were getting worse.

When I got home, I was very surprised to find out that the convergence of bad omens can result to something good; like opening other opportunities to allow a little positive vibes into your life. I thought there was going to be bloodshed so I braced myself for impact. Turns out that whatever omens there may be in my life, a higher being will try to balance it out for you.

I just wish they didn’t have to be as nerve wracking as what I’ve experience last night…

Disclaimer: despite all the bad omens, I had a really great time last night. I guess the signs just made it more… exhilarating. Though next time, Id prefer that the mall was actually open so we can actually stroll around INSIDE. hehehe

I fell in love today...

not with someone. With someTHING. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Its Moroccan inspired and its going to cost me an arm (if i buy the other things that go with it). I can't help it. It is so... ME. It defines my personal style and gives me individuality. It isn't just for showing off. Its a statement. Im talking about a pair of earrings I saw today while I was malling with a friend. Im afraid it might just be an infatuation. If I'm still obsessed with it next week, I'm going back to get it. It was a risk I had to take. If I don't see it, then its out of my life for good. That means it wasn't meant for me. Sure, there may be others like it. I saw several of them. But the colors weren't the same. Its like they have their own individual details. Hmmmm am I still talking about the earrings? hehehe. Well, I guess thats how I also view relationships. By taking risks. Waiting for the right moment and not just going into something I might regret later. So if that one of a kind pair is taken away from me, then I take it as a sign that we were not meant to be.

God, I wish they would have it on sale.

EVITA: A TRIBUTE

When we were froshies in G&W (an alias for my university), my best friend and I had this PLAN. We wanted to get the hell out of this country, share a place, get our boyfriends, and then live the life we always wanted for ourselves. While working as developers of course. All throughout our college life, we nurtured this plan. Treated it as our lifeline. Our motivation for finishing college (well aside from the occasional illusion -- or disillusion of tying the knot with our boyfriends. heheheh). Computer Science wasn't easy for the normal people, you know. Aliens ace it. But normal people? We have to have our noses buried in books almost half of our college lives. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depends on how u look at it :P), most of the people there are aliens. We had all the help we can get.

Now after 5 years, so much has changed. I wasn't the same wide eyed promdi that I was when I was a freshman. Neither is my best friend. We've gone through a lot. We've never actually had a really big fight before. In fact on our first day, we hit it right off. When we haven't seen each other for a long time and we decide to meet up, it was like we talked yesterday. We never ran out of things to say to each other. Its like she's the female counterpart of my other half. We're kindred souls. We have the same fashion sense running through our veins. Most important is that we know that we are a breed apart from the other bitches in the world. Were nerds with style.

Habitat for Humanity: That's me at the rightmost part of your screen in blue. Beside me is my best friend, Ivy. Shhh! My other batchmates don't know that I posted this in mah blog! hehehe

I was a little sad and disappointed that THE plan that weve been after for so many years may not come true after all. I guess I can do it on my own. But I was expecting her to be with me when I make it. After all, what is success when you don't have somebody to share it with? She's going to stay in Cebu for a while to get work. I don't know when she will come back here. Sure, we can still chat and text each other but I will miss the times when we would just sit down, have a choco frap and talk about our man of the hour and how we're gonna feed him to the fishes. hehehe Friends come and go, but Im hoping our friendship will last for a long time. She has been one of the people that has given me support even though she didn't think I need it.

Thank you for putting up with my crap, Vitz. I know I've dumped a lot on you but you seemed to handle it all really well. Just make sure you come back someday. We have a lot of unfinished business to take care of. ;)
